From one custom PBX install to three acquisitions
Bracken Fields and Cameron Weeks started working together in 2006 over a shared love of problem-solving. While attending Purdue, they took on their first serious project: a custom PBX system built from scratch for an Indianapolis high-rise.
By 2008 they had left Purdue to build full-time. That first project grew into Fathom Voice, one of the first cloud-based PBX platforms, connecting data centers into a global operation. In 2016 they pivoted into the contact center space with Sharpen Technologies, and in 2018 launched Edify, unifying UC, CC, and API capabilities in one platform. All three were acquired.
BACK Ventures is the same team applying that experience two ways at once: operating existing companies through their hardest chapters, and building new ones from scratch.
